Welcome Back and Executive Director Fall Update

Welcome back to all of our students, families and staff. We pray that you had a safe, relaxing and refreshing summer!

It is with great anticipation that we look forward to this coming school year and believe that God will continue to build upon the great things he started last year among our student leaders and throughout our entire student body. We saw the presence of God very strongly in chapels, retreats, daily prayer, devotions, Christian Studies, and service trips. We are so thankful for the dedication and faithfulness of the staff and teachers who help facilitate these great things.

Thanks to our student leadership team for hosting a back-to-school prayer walk around the school buildings and property and for all of the students, staff and families who joined us to also pray over each building and classroom.

We are pleased to have Pastors Kristen and Charlene back as well as to introduce Pastor Ryan who, in addition to his Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Theology and Youth Ministry, brings a wealth of experience in working with teens and young adults. We are confident God has brought this team together under the oversight of our Christian Curriculum Coordinator and look forward to how God will use them.

We also look forward to some of the spiritual initiatives including memorizing scripture together and the themes for our chapels and retreats this year.


Maintenance

It was a busy summer for our maintenance department and summer students as they tackled many on-site projects including:

  • Complete recarpeting and repainting of the Gr. 1-3 building including the mini-gym.
  • Furnace and duct cleaning as well as furnace replacements in several buildings.
  • Security and Fire system upgrades across the entire campus.
  • Replacing the woods chips in the red playground with engineered wood chips. A huge thanks to our students and families for the generous fundraising effort that contributed to this.
  • Painting and repair of the red playground.
  • Multiple air conditioning repairs/upgrades (this brought relief to several classrooms and prevented having to purchase new systems).
  • Building of football broadcast seacan and scoreboard setup.
  • Major sewer repair/replacement.
  • New locker installations.
  • Bathroom and wall repairs.
  • MCS directed, and collaboratively funded, beautiful upgrades to the Admin Building foyer entrance, Gr. 4-6 Building foyer entrance and the High School student activity space.


Youth Ministry

Calvary Community Church is pleased to announce a new, full-time Youth Director, Landon Regier who will not only be leading the Youth Ministry at Calvary but is looking forward to interacting and collaborating with members of our MCS team.
We are planning a Thursday afternoon, youth drop-in time and space (after early dismissal) that will help build youth community.


ELCC/Out of School Care

We had a very full summer as we were near capacity for our summer program which many parents and families are grateful for.


MCSS Registration and Fees

Thanks to all of our parents and families who have diligently contacted us with questions or concerns in regards to their Society fees.

Our MCSS accounting team is such a blessing as they have worked extremely hard to streamline and simplify the fee process. Thanks to them and to the patience of our families as we continue to work to improve customer service in this area.


Prayer for MCS

We pray that:

  • God would continue to build upon the great things that He started last year among our student leaders and student body.

    Phil 1:16a – And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work…

  • God’s presence and peace would be in each classroom and over each student and teacher.
    Phil 4:7 – Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
  • God’s angels and protection would cover each classroom.
    Psalm 91:11 – For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
  • Our teachers, staff, administrators, students and families would experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives in a deeper way than ever before.
    Ephesians 3:16-17 – I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
  • Each classroom would be a place of great learning-academically and spiritually.
    John 14: 26 Voice – The Father is sending a great Helper, the Holy Spirit, in My name to teach you everything and to remind you of all I have said to you.
  • God’s unity, anointing, and blessing would pour out over our school.
    Psalm 133:1,3b – How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity… For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
  • Through athletics, performing arts, and service, Christ’s love would be demonstrated to the world around us.
    Matthew 5:16 – In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
  • Our chapels and Christian Studies classes would be a place of experiencing God through prayer, worship and the Word.
    James 4:8 – Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
    Mat 18:20 – For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them
  • Our campus pastors would have a great spiritual impact on our students.
    Titus 2:7 – In all things show them how to live by your life and by right teaching.
